Day 1 | Highlights: Welcome
Welcome to the wondrous city of Budapest, one of Europe’s oldest and most beautiful cities. Upon arrival transfer to your luxurious hotel for a two night stay.
Day 2 | Budapest Highlights: Buda and Pest
Wander the cobblestone streets with your expert local guide and explore both towns of Buda and Pest, linked by the famous Chain Bridge. This evening you’ll get to experience a delicious dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 3 | Budapest Highlights:
This afternoon you’ll board your Scenic Space-Ship. At this evening’s welcome reception, raise your glass to the wonderful cruise ahead of you.
Day 4 | Kalocsa Highlights: Hungarian horse show
Today you’ll get to witness a traditional Hungarian horse show.
Day 5 | Osijek: Highlights: Enrich home hosted meal
Explore Osijek on a guided city tour, or if you’re the more active type, you could opt to take a blissful guided bike ride through Osijek’s countryside.
Day 6 | Belgrade Highlights: Scenic Sundowners
Join your local guide and discover one of the oldest capital cities in Europe – Belgrade. Alternatively, choose a guided bicycle ride along the Danube, or taste your way around the local market through our Shop with a Chef offering. Or for some true insight into local life join a walking tour with a local.
Day 7 | Iron Gates Highlights: Danube Gorge
Relax on board and admire the scenery as you cruise the spectacular Iron Gates – a narrow gorge that the Danube has carved out between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains. Not only is it a spectacular setting for a cruise, it’s also the natural border between Serbia and Romania.
Day 8 | Svishtov > Rousse Highlights: Byzantine treasures
Discover the Byzantine gem of Veliko Tarnovo and the World Heritage-listed village of Arbanassi. Alternatively stay on board and enjoy the trip towards the Bulgarian town of Rousse, where you’ll be treated to a guided sightseeing tour.
Day 9 | Silistra Highlights: Black Sea and Varna
Discover the Silistra Fort during an active walking tour, or take an excursion to Varna on the Black Sea coast. Or, tour a local village, including a visit to the primary school, and learn about life in Bulgaria.
Day 10 | Giurgiu > Bucharest Highlights: Palace of the Parliament
Disembark your ship and travel to Bucharest.
Day 11 | Bucharest > Nessebar Highlights: Folklore show and dinner
Travel to the stunning Black Sea coast for a two-night stay Nessebar. Tonight, delight in delicious local cuisine and take in a folklore show.
Day 12 | Nessebar Highlights: Pristine beaches
Enjoy a guided tour of Nessebar, followed by some valuable leisure time.
Day 13 | Nessebar > Canakkale Highlights: The Dardanelles
Journey from Bulgaria to Canakkale, Turkey and enjoy a two night stay.
Day 14 | Canakkale > Gallipoli Highlights: Gallipoli ANZAC heritage
Today travel to the Gallipoli Peninsula, the site of WWI landings by the Allied Forces, including ANZAC troops. There are over 31 cemeteries on the peninsula, which is now a national park, and you’ll have the chance to explore it all and gain a unique perspective on this moving and historically poignant location.
Day 15 | Istanbul Highlights: Homer’s Troy
After breakfast enjoy a fascinating tour of Homer’s Troy – the legendary site of the Trojan Wars. You’ll even see a giant replica of the famous Trojan Horse. Afterwards, travel to Istanbul, where you can look forward to a three night stay.
Day 16 | Istanbul Highlights: Europe meets Asia
Try your hand at a cooking class or join a calligraphy course and try the ancient art of writing. Alternatively, relax and rejuvenate during your visit to the Ayasofya Hurrem Sultan Hamami Turkish Baths.
Day 17 | Istanbul Highlights: Enrich Hamdi Restaurant dinner
This morning visit Hagia Sophia and spend some time wandering the evocative Grand Bazaar before enjoying an afternoon at leisure.
Day 18 | Istanbul Highlights: Farewell
After breakfast, prepare to head home. It may be the end of your journey, but it’s the beginning of a lifetime of fond memories.
