13 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Reykjavik

    Welcome to Reykjavik where a world of wonder awaits as you step on board and raise your glass to toast the start of your luxurious cruise. Please book your flight to arrive prior to 1pm.

  2. Day 2 - Snæfellsnes Peninsula

    Sparkling fjords, dramatic volcanic peaks, sheer sea cliffs and vast lava flows beckon as you cruise in and around the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Look for the concentrations of bird species nesting on the treacherous Látrabjarg cliffs, and marine life in the waters of the Peninsula.

  3. Day 3 - Denmark Strait

    Cruise from Iceland across the Denmark Strait following in the footsteps of Erik the Red to the south east coast of Greenland. The Discovery Team will enthrall you with their knowledge and passion for this region from an informative lecture in the Theatre to watching for whales and seabirds on deck.

  4. Day 4 - Skjoldungen Fjords

    The majestic Prins Christian Sund, is a 100 kilometre long fjord surrounded by towering mountain pinnacles with an abundance of glaciers reaching into the waters, and icebergs floating past. Relax on your verandah or step out on deck for a day of stunning scenery as you cruise through the fjord.  Depending on the conditions there may be the opportunity to visit the small Inuit community of Aappilattoq on the shores of the fjord.

  5. Day 5 - Nanortalik

    Discover the Viking heritage of Erik the Red and the influence of the American’s during World War II at the picturesque settlement of Narsarsuaq, lying on the Tunulliarfik Fjord in Southern Greenland.

    Visit Brattahlid, the settlement of Eric the Red and step inside the reconstruction of his longhouse.

    Scenic Discovery excursions by kayak or with the Discovery team for a nature walk to uncover the colourful wildflowers.

  6. Day 6 - At sea

    The largest city in Southern Greenland, with a population of just over 3,000 residents awaits today as you cruise to Qaqortoq.

    Take a walking tour of the town centre and visit the Museum or meet a local family to discover their lifestyle and history.

    Scenic Discovery excursions by kayak or Zodiac. Or choose a hiking tour with the Discovery Team.

  7. Day 7 - At sea

    Relax on board and make use of the Spa Sanctuary or even take a yoga class in the studio as you cruise the Labrador Sea. There’ll be insightful lectures and presentations from the Discovery Team in the theatre or perhaps learn some new cooking techniques in Scenic Epicure.

  8. Day 8 - L’Anse aux Meadows

    Step back in time to the Viking Era as you visit World Heritage-listed L’Anse aux Meadows, the only known Norse village in North America discovered by Leif Erikson, and his crew of Norse explorers.

    Discover Viking heritage on your tour of this unique archaeological site and gain insight into Norse life or explore the north coast of Newfoundland and search for whales and dolphins on your cruise.

    Take a Scenic Discovery excursion by kayak or take a nature walk or hike.

  9. Day 9 - Battle Harbour

    For two centuries, Battle Harbour was the economic and social centre of the south eastern Labrador coast of Canada. Your passionate local guide will escort you around this carefully preserved village sharing stories of the traditional life and times of Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans.

  10. Day 10 - Gros Morne National Park

    World Heritage-listed Gros Morne National Park’s ancient landscape is shaped by colliding continents and grinding glaciers.

    Take a walk with a local ranger to explore this natural wilderness or visit the Science Research Centre.

    Take a Scenic Discovery kayak excursion to explore the park’s waterways or take a guided hike through the National Park.

    Be swept away by a private performance by the Soundbone Traditional Arts Foundation and immerse yourself in Newfoundland culture with interactive music and dance workshops, storytelling and learning the art of rug hooking.

  11. Day 11 - Havre St Pierre

    On the shores of the Saint Lawrence River, this picturesque port is an undiscovered treasure.

    Visit the Innu communities to gain an understanding of the history of these traditional cultures or take a walking tour of the charming town of Havre St Pierre.

    At Mingan Archipelago National Park, be amazed by the limestone formations on a nature walk. Alternatively take a Scenic Discovery kayak excursion or a guided bike excursion.

  12. Day 12 - Tadoussac

    Located at the confluence of the Saguenay and Saint Lawrence Rivers is the charming town of Tadoussac. A whale watchers paradise where their favourite food, krill abounds in massive amounts.

    Take a whale-watching adventure to observe the multitude of whale species or venture on a walking tour to uncover the lifestyle of the local residents. Alternatively choose a tasting tour of local delicacies.

    Take a Scenic Discovery kayak excursion, a guided bike excursion or a nature walk on the Sentier de la plage trail.

  13. Day 13 - Québec City
